Woodpecker comes banging around the backyard

Woody was caught in the backyard going to town on some form of wood product. My son, the non-cameraman has a case of the jitters as you can tell with shaky camera holding skills. It took us two days to track where these guy/girl woodpecker was.

The video embedded link within this tweet looks like it hurts. The guy nearly sliced his ear completely off of the side of his head. Would you do an idiotic action like this to become Youtube famous? And why are videos like this flagged for being dangerous?
